The Sanderling Resort wedding we captured for Kate and Nathan was nothing short of perfection. It was a typical gorgeous July day on the Outer Banks. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in sight. As the bride and groom were in their rooms getting ready for their I do’s, the Sanderling Resort was bustling with beach goers and of course staff members putting the last touches on the cocktail hour and receptions sites. We walked out onto the beach before anyone had arrived, and the ceremony site by I do OBX chairs was stunning. Shortly after we made our way to the reception space where Kerri and Mary, from The Proper Setting were making sure that everything was in place, (which it was of course because they always do such a phenomenal job).
Joe and I then headed our separate ways. I went with Kate while she finished getting ready, and Joe joined Nathan and his groomsmen. I had a blast capturing the ladies as they laughed and cried (happy tears of course). The highlight for me that afternoon was when she put on her wedding dress and hugged her Mother. You could see the pure joy she felt at the moment and we were able to capture that through our camera lens. The time had came and gone and the big event was just around the corner.
Nathan made his way down the aisle towards their officiant, Tony Joseph, and patiently waited for his bride to appear. As the bridal party and family members made their way down the beach to join Nathan, Kate appeared looking absolutely stunning. Her smile said it all. You could see the excitement, love, and pure bliss as she made her way down towards her soon to be husband. With Tony guiding them through their vows and ring exchanges, it was time for their first kiss as husband and wife. The love between these two people was evident, and we were so happy to be able to capture such a special moment in time.
As they made their way back down the aisle, their guests followed and grabbed a cocktail in the yard of the Sanderling Resort. This is where they played corn hole and chatted as the bridal party took their beach portraits. Soon after, everyone headed over to their reception site which was on the same grounds as the resort. There they had an array of food choices for everyone to enjoy. After dinner was served it was time for a special performance by the bride and her bridesmaids. It was a rap to Nathan. It was so unique and creative and was a fantastic memory for them to keep on film. With the sun setting, it was time for the party! The guests flooded the dance floor and didn’t move the rest of the night! The energy was electric and Kate and Nathan looked like they were having the best time with their friends and family. With confetti being shot into the crowd, the night came to an end. It was time for Kate and Nathan to leave and start their new chapter together as husband and wife. It was such a pleasure to be able to capture all of your special moments, and we want to thank you for choosing us to be a part of such a special day.
